When I wake up in the morning, this is what my sleepy eyes see. And though it might look depressing to you, I love it and I’ll tell you why.
The story began last summer; my brother was looking for someone to baby-sit his apartment in Amsterdam, because he was going to travel trough South America for 3 months. Helpful and altruistic as I am, I offered to do it…
It was quite a step; 17 years old, living in the center of Amsterdam. No more ‘caring’ parents constantly watching your back, complete silence when you’re quiet and bedtime whenever I wanted to go. Man… I love this!
There’s just one thing, in two months my brother will come home. This means I’ll have to leave my little bachelor paradise and go back to my parents, back to the dull old days to be imprisoned for another whole year. That’s right, they won’t let me go until I’m 19.
I’ve tried every possible argument to convince them, but there seems to be no way to change their minds. Is there no way that does not involve murder, fraud or an invisibility cloak to escape my future prison? Suggestions are welcome in the comments.

How about a skank to set you free?!
Rediscover your “prison”. Discover the cracks you haven’t seen before. Sniff in the air. And realise you are going to miss it once you’re out of it.

If you get to the end of the 3 months, and you haven’t blown up the apartment, then maybe it will show your parents that you can cope in the big bad world.
