Quadlife Crisis

We’ve al had it, now it’s my turn…

Have you ever had that feeling were you just wanted to quit everything in your life and do something completely different? I’ve had it for the past half year. I’m in my last year of school and about to do my final exams. Talking about bad timing…

I guess I’ve had enough of the boring school life. The last few months have been like one long sit-trough, the first lesson no other from the last. For years I’ve struggled to get where I am now even though I didn’t really know where I was going. Finally I can see a little light in the distance but I just don’t make an effort anymore to get there.

Don’t worry - I won’t quit, simply because I’ve put to much time and effort in my education to stop now. Even if I really wanted to I couldn’t because of my parents (Yes, there they are again!).

Now let me try to explain what I want you to do with a little example (I know, I know, Pulp Fiction… I can’t help it, it’s a great movie):

The path of the righteous man (me) is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men (principal). Blessed is he (you!!), who in the name of charity and good will (I know you’ve got it in you :D ), shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness(last 2 months), for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I (God) will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger (dame, that’s bad…) those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. (So don’t go messing around with my mind!)

So again I desperately seek you advise. Any suggestions are welcome.

    Yay, nice one Thom!

Growing up is a bitch, eh?

Anyway, I’m glad our part of this blog is over for now. People might think it’s all about one big teenage angst.. ;) Luckily there’s more in life, so stay tuned.

So you think you’re tired of school life and thinking about something else. Think you’re alone? I’ll bet you that the person in class, sitting right next to you is thinking the exact same thing. But the point is, it’s totally normal. You are totally ready for something new and you deserve it after all these years.

Just do the shit you have to do, what everybody wants you to do but get your own battle plan - in secret - and slowly put it into works when you’re moving forward with your life. Just think: after havo or wvo or whatever you’re doing, you’re going to do something you’d really love doing - with the occasional shit you have to put up with. There is always shit, just deal with shit a good way so you won’t get pissed just because it smells bad.

well, i must agree with henk about lots of people (including myself) feeling this kind of thing. Lucky guy you only have two months to go. The only advice a can give you is that indeed everyone feels it, and that school is only a tiny fraction of your life :)

Funny, teenage angst was exactly what I had in mind for my contribution.
